Evidently married 09 SEP 1852 in Muscogee County, Georgia, to Mary Matilda ROGERS. Father of at least 6 children. Family appears on the census of Girard, Russell County, Alabama (1880), and in Ward 5, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia (1900).

Mary Jane Galer's list of persons interred in the New Cemetery area of Linwood shows: John LAMON, married male, born 06 MAR 1819 in North Carolina, died aged 84 years at 808 Second Avenue [Columbus, Georgia] [cause of death not reported]; buried 11 APR 1902 in Section C, Lot 831, by undertaker [Charlton Lafayette] TORBETT, reference local death certificate #475 - Sexton Jesse Alec BEARD.

This grave is probably not identifiably marked. In addition to LAMON individuals, also reported buried in Section C, Lot 831 is Annie L. GEESLIN (1859-1919), who has a marked grave in Dolores Autry's Section K, Lot 183 - see her "Historic Linwood Cemetery" book, Volume 3.
