Mrs. Christina Holder Lowhorn, of Tullahoma, assistant pastor of Emmanuel Church of Christ in Tullahoma for many years, died Sunday at Lynchburg Nursing Center. She was 97 years old.

A native of Logan County, Ky., she was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph Talmadge Holder, who died in 1938, and Lee Lowhorn, who died in 1973; her parents, James Jefferson and Harriet Tolitha Stratton Smith, and one daughter, Louise Weaver, who died in 1989.

Services were held at 7 p.m. Monday at Tullahoma Funeral Home chapel with Rob Roy Banks officiating. Burial was at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Greenwood Cemetery, Adairville, Ky.

Survivors include three daughters, Geraldine McDaniel, Winchester; Birdie Mae (and Rob Roy) Banks, Tullahoma, and Jeanette (and Frank) Gunn, Normandy; five stepdaughters, Effie Fanning, Virginia Sparacino and Susie Turner, all of Tullahoma, Alene Letner, Portage, Ind., and Imogene Haslett, Murfreesboro; one sister, Lela Smith Richardson, Atlanta, Ga.; 10 grandchildren, Justine Weaver and Dwain Gunn, both of Tullahoma; Ronnie Banks, Murfreesboro; Larry Banks and Paula Weaver Phillips, both of Huntsville, Ala.; Marlane Banks McClannan, Lebanon; Gary Gunn, Franklin; Mark McDaniel, Winchester; Mickey McDaniel, JCaty, Texas, and Marilyn McDaniel--Dunnill, Hamilton, Va.; 19 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
