Bettye Frances Young, age 84, a McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native died October 13, 2016 in Raintree Manor following an extended illness.
She was a retired cafeteria worker with the Warren County School System, member of Central Church of Christ and daughter of the late William Berry and Hassie M. Medley Brewer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Bernice Lee Banks, Maggie Lou Crouch and Elizabeth Warren; and brothers, Bill Brewer, Burr Brewer and J.D. Herndon.
Mrs. Young was married January 1, 2001 to Elmus Young who survives. In addition to her husband, she is survived by step-children, Teresa Scurlock and husband Danny of Smithville, TN and Phillip βTankβ Young and wife Glenda of McMinnville; step-granddaughter, Angela Thrower of McMinnville; step-great-grandson, Tyler Hayes; nieces, Charlotte Redmon, Barbara Ann Tobitt, Becky Brewer and Brenda Brewer all of McMinnville; great-nieces, Vickie Williamson, Daisy Dean Maxwell, Lea Ann Morrison and husband Steve and Belinda Lance all of McMinnville; and great-nephew, Jeff Williamson and wife Lee of McMinnville.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2016 in High's Chapel with Bobby Pennington to officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday and 10:00 a.m. Sunday until time of service at High's.
