DAWSON SPRINGS, Ky. -- Sylvia T. Cunningham, 76, of Dawson Springs died at 1:45 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.

She was born in Caldwell County on Oct. 30, 1923, to the late Richard Thomson and Susie Bell Wigginston Thomson.

She was a homemaker, retired from Exception Outwood as executive secretary to the director, and was a former partner in Betty's Florist. She was an active volunteer with the Dawson Springs Museum and Arts Center, Dawson Springs Branch Library, and the New Dawson Springs Nursing Center. She was a member of the "Stitch and Chatter Club," a former member of the YW Club, and a former member of the Homemaker's Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Joy Cunningham, on June 8, 2000; three brothers, Orville Thomson, Lester Thomson, and Hickman Thomson; and one sister, Bobbie Thomson.

She is survived by one son, Alan Cunningham of Henderson, Ky.; one brother, R.B. Thomson of Louisville, Ky.; and one step-grandchild.

Services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church in Dawson Springs with the Rev. Randall Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
