Pauline Meriwether-Tinder, 72, passed away peacefully Friday, Oct. 7, 2016, at Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo.
She attended Kokomo School system and received her General Education Development Diploma in 1992, graduating at the top of her class. Pauline retired as a certified nurse assistant after 35 years of service. Pauline cared for residents and patients at Golden Living, previously known as Sycamore Village; Northwoods Village; Community Howard Regional Hospital; and St. Vincent Kokomo, previously known as St. Joseph Hospital. She loved caring for her clients.
Pauline was a dedicated member of Second Missionary Baptist Church, where she previously served in the Melvin Bellamy Choir and The Ruth Circle Auxiliary. She enjoyed attending Bible study, cooking for her family, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Pauline was preceded in death by her father, Randolph Meriwether Sr.; mother, Arletta B. McKeage-Rice; twin sister, Allene Meriwether; and brother, Steven Meriwether.
She leaves to cherish her memory, devoted daughters, Jwana J. Weaver-Hall, Regina A. Bennett (George) and Pamela R. Kemper (Tim), Kokomo; grandchildren, Ashley A. and Jazmine C. Meriwether, Jalen L. Hall, Nadiya F. Bennett and Tamiah J. Kemper; great-grandchild, Kavari A. Wilson; stepchildren, Darla K. Pugh, Joel B. Tinder III, Kokomo, and Jose Tinder, Indianapolis; brothers, Randolph Meriwether Jr., Seattle, Washington, Greg Beck (Shirley), Marion, Stanley W. Meriwether (Judith), Indianapolis, and Mark A. Rice (Carolyn), Cleveland, Ohio; and sisters, Lorraine Ellis (Roland) and Tina M. Rink (Scott), Kokomo; and stepsister, Lisa Conyers (Bobby), Kokomo.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at Second Missionary Baptist Church, with visitation there from 9 a.m. Interment will be in Sunset Memory Garden. Arrangements were entrusted to Bluitt and Son Funeral Home.
