Doris “Vergene” Clumpner, 92, of Kearney died Sunday, October 09, 2016, at her home. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at the Elm Creek United Methodist Church with the Rev. Doug Gahn officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery in Lexington. O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Chapel in Elm Creek

Vergene was born December 5, 1923 in Darr, Nebraska to Christian and Christina (Jensen) Foged. She received her education from Cozad High School graduating in 1942. Vergene was united in marriage to Phillip “Pete” Wolfe in 1945. The couple enjoyed 46 years of marriage before Pete passed away in 1991. In 1999, Vergene married Alva Clumpner. Alva died in 2005.
Vergene was a long time member of the United Methodist Church and she enjoyed vegetable gardening and traveling.
Survivors include her daughter Lynette (Delos) McKee of Elm Creek; stepchildren Daniel (Sonya) Clumpner of New Auburn, WI, Kathleen Vaughn of Lacrosse, WI and Mike Clumpner of Sturgeon Bay, WI; as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands; son Phillip Wolfe; daughter Christine Wolfe; and one infant brother.
