Rosa A. Almanza, 68, of Davenport, died Saturday, October 7, 2016 at her home.
Funeral Services & Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Davenport. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Davenport.
Rosa was born June 27, 1948 in Mexico, the daughter of Francisco & Florencia (Garcia) Aguilar. She was united in marriage to Bonifacio Almanza in Andalusia, Illinois in 1974.
Rosa enjoyed music, dancing, puzzles and most of all, spending time with her beloved family.
Those left to honor Rosa’s memory include her husband, Bonifacio; her daughters, Veronica and Rachel Almanza and Adriana (Valentin) Voorhis, all of Davenport; her sons, Jose (Annette) Aguilar of Moline, Illinois, Fernando (Carol) Almanza of Davenport and Roberto (Maria) Almanza of Moline; her daughter-in-law, Kristina Almanza of Davenport; 23 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Guadalupe (Francisco) Herrera of Davenport and Dora Perez of Rock Island, Illinois; and her brother, Jorge Aguilar of Laredo, Texas.
Rosa was preceded in death by her parents; her sons, Alexander and Gabriel; her great-grandson, Isaiah; her granddaughter, Angelica; her great-granddaughter, Zalaya; and her brothers, Francisco and Jose.
