Charles was one of the at least eight children born to William H. Stuck (1842-1909) and Sarah Ringer (1843-1883) who married on 25 Aug. 1864 in Marshall Co., Indiana. Charles' siblings were Carrie (1865-1945), Henry E. (1866-1928), Harvey D. (1868-1874), John William (b.1870), Hiram Edward (1871-1937), Milton M. (1874-1878), Charles here in 1876, and Anna S. (1878-1940).

In 1880, Charles was living with his parents and five of his siblings in Union Twp. (today the Culver area), Marshall Co., Indiana where Charles' father was farming for a living.

On 21 Feb. 1900, Charles married Julia E. ("Juliotte" on record) Brumley ("Brumbly" on record) in La Porte Co., Indiana. I found them on the 1900 Census, newly married, no children, and Charles was making a living as a farmer like his father. On 4 May 1901, Charles and Julia welcomed their first child, son Herrold T. Two years later, they welcomed a second son, Orlando "Oler" Franklin, born on 18 Jan. 1903. Sadly, Herrold died on 4 Aug. 1906 at age five.

Sometime between that time and 1910, Charles and Julia separated. I found Charles on the 1910 Census, married, but without Julia, in La Porte as a "boarder" with Charles and Ida Wingeat, and working as a "helper" in a "foundry". There was a 5-year old child named Leo Stuck with him, who may have been another son. Charles' son Orlando was living with his aunt and uncle, John and Martha Banks in Union in 1910. Martha was mother Julia's older sister. It is unclear where Julia was at that time.

In 1917, on Charles' WWI registration card, he was living in La Porte and working at La Porte Gas & Electric Co.

By the 1920 Census, Charles and Julia had divorced. Charles was still in La Porte, boarding with George and Ora Harness, and working as a "laborer" in a "shop". Julia had married William A. Alderfer and moved to Kankakee, Illinois. Charles' and Julia's son Orlando also ended up in Kankakee where he married Hazel M. Brickle circa 1927 and had a daughter named Anna Mae, born in 1928.

On the 1930 Census, Charles was still divorced, and was living in Union Twp. with his sister Anna, Anna's husband Alton Triplet, and their children. He was working as a "farm laborer".

The Leo Stuck that was with Charles in 1910 moved to Iowa sometime before 1951, where he died in 1979, a year after Orlando Stuck died in 1978 in Kankakee.

Sometime before 1940, Charles married second wife Alma O. I found them on the 1940 Census, living in Union Twp. where Charles was working as a "laborer" in "sewer construction". Alma died four years later in 1944 at age 61. When Charles died in 1958, he was laid to rest at her side.
