Mrs. Evia Anderson Benge, age 87, of Country Club Road, Wilkesboro, widow of Bryant Benge died Sunday, December 17, 2006 at her home.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 20, at 11:00 at Central Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronnie Millsaps officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30. Burial will be in Fishing Creek Arbor Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Benge was born in Wilkes County, March 1, 1919, to Lee and Ettie Anderson. She was a member of Central Baptist Church. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and homemaker.

Mrs. Benge is survived by four daughters, Margie Strang and husband, Fred of Statesville, Minnie Millsaps and husband, Ronnie of North Wilkesboro, Shirley Vanderburg and husband, Max of China Grove, Zenie Wyatt and husband, Jerry of Wilkesboro; five sons, Earnie Benge and wife, Becky of Statesville, Burlie Benge, Virgil Benge both of Charlottte, Johnny D. Benge of Greensboro, Laddie E. Benge of Wilkesboro; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.
