Coming from Talbot County, Georgia, Samuel Adams was considered a "well to do" early settler of Stewart County, Georgia.
Married Holland Vause on 23 Feb 1834.
Both are buried in the rock enclosed family cemetery in the Providence/Shady Grove Community near their home where they settled in 1857.
This couple were parents of 11 children; five of whom served in the Confederate Army.

Located in the Providence/Shady Grove Community of Lumpkin, Stewart County, Georgia.
The family cemetery was once enclosed in a four-fott stone wall with an iron gate and contained 27 tombstones.
All have been removed by unknown persons except 3.
Once a thickly populated community, it has been abandoned and the cemetery is almost inaccessible.
