Born January 2, 1931 in Princeville, Illinois the son of Eldon Delmar and Maude (Marvin) Buskirk.
Eldon served in the Army National Guard in the 123rd Infantry for ten years.
He was a a farmer and worked for the Wells Plant in Monmouth, Illinois.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Pleasant and a former member of the West Point Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Fort Madison Moose Club and the Eagles Club in Oquawka, Illinois.
Eldon enjoyed fishing, gardening, being outdoors and woodworking.
Survivors include his special friend; Cora Blackman of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, five children; Marion (Debbie) Buskirk of Canton, Illinois, Marty (Peggy) Buskirk of Canton, Illinois, Mark (Amber) Buskirk of Canton, Illinois, John (Tami) Buskirk of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Robin (Wayne) Erickson of Canton, Illinois, twelve grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and three brothers.
Friends may call and meet with the family between 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at the West Point Presbyterian Church in West Point, Iowa.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at the West Point Presbyterian Church with Pastors Richard Eis and Trey Hegar officiating.
A luncheon will follow the funeral service at the West Point American Legion.
Burial will be at East Linwood Cemetery in Galesburg, Illinois.
Memorials have been established in his memory for the West Point Presbyterian Church.
