James “Jim” Armstrong, 72 of White Hall, passed away, Sunday, September 25, 2016.

Mr. Armstrong was born in Waxahachie,Texas on February 2, 1944, the son of W.G. “Johnny” and Dollie Pearl Armstrong.

He was raised in Saltillo, Texas, and married Judy Carter in July, 1975, in Jacksonville, Florida.

Mr. Armstrong retired in 1993 from the United States Navy following 20 years of service and served during both the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Shield/Storm. Following his retirement from the Navy he worked for 12 years as a Certified A Water Operator for the City of Palm Coast, Florida.

Before health issues, Jim was very involved in church activities at Flagler Beach First Baptist Church.

Due to health issues Mr. Armstrong moved with his wife from Palm Coast, Florida to Arkansas in 2012.

He enjoyed speading time with his family, Nascar racing and hunting with his son-in-law Tim.

He was a member of the White Hall American Legion #232.

Mr. Armstrong is preceeded in death by his parents, sister, Marilyn Armstrong and granddaughter, Rhonda Cooney.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Armstrong; Daughter, Pam (Tim) Cooney of White Hall; Sons, Randy Carter of Midlothian, Virginia and Michael Rawson, Texas. Five grandchildren, several great grand children and two aunts, June Whitten and Lyda Gray.

Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, 5:30 pm at Cranford Funeral Chapel.
