Dollie Pearl was was born in Waxahachie, TX on August 20, 1915, the daughter of Jabez Monroe and Gertrude (McAfee) Whitten. She married Guy “Johnny” Armstrong in Dallas, TX. He preceded her in death. She worked for Levi Strauss making gloves and was a member of Old Saltillo United Methodist Church and a past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star. Several of her favorite things to do was crochet, making quilts, gardening, cooking for family and friends and she also active in several community activities throughout her life.
She leaves behind a son, James Armstrong and wife, Judy of White Hall, AR; three grandchildren, Pam Cooney, Michael Rawson and Randy Carter; five great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren and sister, Lyda Gray.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Marilyn Armstrong; brothers, Roy Atwell Whitten and John David Whitten; sisters, Kathryn Dickson, Maurine Wood and Mary Ott and great-granddaughter, Rhonda Lynn Cooney.
