R. Eugene Wolfe, 81, of Gilpin died Tuesday (Jan. 21, 2003) in the Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Natrona Heights, Harrison.

He was born March 15, 1921, in Pilot Rock, Oregon, and lived in the Kiski Valley most of his life.

During World War II, he served with the Army.

He worked in the cold roll department of Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp., West Leechburg works, prior to retiring.

Mr. Wolfe was a member of the Hebron Lutheran Church, Leechburg, and was a life member of the Leechburg Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Caruso Wolfe; a brother, Don Wolfe of Florida; and a sister, Betty Billock of Vandergrift.

Also surviving is a brother-in-law, Kenneth Wingard of Gilpin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Elizabeth Shaner Wolfe.

There will be no public visitation. Private burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Gilpin. Arrangements are being handled by the DUNMIRE-KERR FUNERAL HOME, Vandergrift.
