Mildred Jenny (Pray) Voltz, age 102, of Seven Mile Creek Township, Mauston, Wisconsin, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Crestview Nursing Home in New Lisbon, Wisconsin, with her daughter-in-law by her side.

She was born on May 12, 1914 to the proud parents, Nels E. and Rosie M. (Young) Pray at their home in Necedah. She graduated from Necedah High School in 1932 and until her passing was the oldest living graduate.

Mildred was united in marriage to Jack Voltz on June 16, 1934. They started their married life on a small farm in Seven Mile Creek Township and later moved to the farm on Clark Road where it continues to be in the Voltz Family, which was marked a Century Farm in 2006. They were blessed with five children.

Mildred became a widow on July 25, 1956. She continued living on the farm and in 1967 at the age of 53 became employed at Vacuum Platers in Mauston. There she worked for 21 years and retired at the age of 74.

Mildred took and enjoyed many trips with Holiday Travel, traveling and setting foot in both oceans and several National Parks out West and in Canada. At times she traveled with family but was never afraid to travel singly and meeting up with new friends along the way. Her garden and many flower beds were a true love that she always had on the farm. A weed would not dare to show in the garden or flower beds. She ate only what she grew with freezing many garden items to hold her over during the winter months. Mildred loved sewing and made clothes for her many grandchildren and several outfits for the children and grandchildren of friends of the family and her extended family at her place of employment. She made many quilts and rugs over the years. Her love for the farm showed as she lived there until she was 99 years of age.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack; her daughter, Ruth Voltz; her sons, Robert Walter and Charles Nelson; her sisters, Delores Emerson, Angeline Luke, Peggy Howland, Bonnie Vozank, Sonia Lange and Ellsworth Pray.

She is survived by her sons, John (MaryEllen) Voltz of Mauston and William, Sr. (Donna) Voltz of Mauston; daughter-in-law, LaVonne Voltz of Mauston; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; Sisters, Doris Smith, Jean (Jesse) Cieman, June Martinec and Beverly Skinner; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
