Harry Andrew Flora was the youngest son born to Andrew Jackson & Anna Margaret (Gee) Flora on Tuesday, April 9, 1889. Born & raised in Vincennes, Knox County, Indiana Harry lived at 1222 Short Street & 1202 Scott Street in Vincennes.

At the age of 18 Harry married Nora L Kennedy on Monday, September 30, 1907 in Terre Haute, Vigo County, Indiana. Harry & Nora had 1 child; Ethel May Flora In 1910 He & Nora were homeowners at 1520 2nd Ave, Terre Haute, Indiana. They divorced April 8, 1911 in Terre Haute, Indiana; remarrying in Terre Haute on Sunday, May 30, 1915 & divorced September 10, 1916 Terre Haute, Indiana.

Harry was a paper/cardboard maker at The Paper Mill in Terre Haute majority of his life. He was sent to their St Mary's factory in St Mary's, Auglaize County, Ohio in 1915 where he met Ella Marie Conger Logan.

Harry married Ella on Monday, September 11, 1916 in Terre Haute, Vigo, Indiana. They lived in Yorktown, Delaware County, Indiana until 1918; returning to Terre Haute, Vigo County, Indiana for the remainder of their lives. He & Ella purchased a home at 716 South 1st Street until 1925 moving to 2147 South 1st Street. In 1929 they lived at 1230 Harding Ave, Terre Haute, Indiana; Harry a laborer for a chemical factory. In 1932; at the height of the depression Harry was a laborer working full time & living at 131 Park Street, Terre Haute, Indiana. They moved to their final residence in 1944 to 1123 Harding Ave., Terre Haute, Vigo, Indiana where Harry worked as a janitor for a chemical factory.

Harry volunteered almost 20 years working with trouble boys at a local shelter in Terre Haute. Neither he nor Ella could drive; Harry rode a bicycle with Ella on the handle bars. He loved professional wrestling so that he was known to sit on the edge of seat & yell at the tv in the height of a good fight.

Harry & Ella had 6 children; all living to adulthood:

Terre Haute Tribune - Harry Andrew Flora, 72 of 1123 Harding Avenue died Saturday morning at the Union Hospital after an extended illness. He is survived by the wife, Ella; five sons, Charles, Eri, Owen and Clyde all of Terre Haute, and Harry of Chicago; four daughters, Mrs. LaVera Church, Mrs. Annamae Merritt and Mrs. Mary Day, all of Terre Haute and Mrs. Virginia Murphy of Marshall, ILL; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. The body was removed to the Ball-Porter Funeral Home where friends may call after noon Sunday and where services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday. The Rev Leon and Rev Viola Finney will officiate and burial will be in Bethesda Cemetery.
