Betty Jo (McGhee) Parker, 78, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 1, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She passed away after a short illness and slipped peacefully into eternity without pain and with the peace of everlasting life. Born on March 3, 1937 in Wyoming County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Samuel McGhee and Hattie Mae (Johnson) McGhee. She was the 6th of 9 children. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Bob McGhee and Frank McGhee, and by her sisters, Anna Mae Mounts, Elizabeth Gillespie, Mabel Sewell and Lucille Walker. She is survived by her sister, Gladys (Jim) Blevins of White Oak, WV; her brother, Jay (Gladys) McGhee of Swepsonville, NC; her three sons, Frank (Jamie) Parker of Alderson, WV, Bill (Mayra) Parker of Union, WV and Jon (Karen) Parker of Clovis, CA; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She retired from B.F. Goodrich and enjoyed church, dancing, and flea markets. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the Union Church of God, with a reception to follow. She will be laid to rest in her family cemetery in Egeria, WV. Cremation Arrangements were entrusted to the Tri-State Cremation Society.
