Services in Lutheran Church with Military Honors at Graveside
Services were held Monday at 1:45 p.m. in Trinity Lutheran church for Edwin Bohnart, long-time Osceola county resident, who died Thursday. The Rev. J. H. Reents was in charge of the services. Burial was in the Sibley cemetery.
Last military honors were paid at the graveside by members of George Mudge Post of the American Legion of Sibley.
Edwin Bohnart was born July 20, 1893, at Elkader, Iowa, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bohnart.
On October 3, 1921, he was united in marriage with Miss Nachtigal. They farmed for many years in Viola township.
He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran church in Viola township. He was a member of the American Legion for 38 years.
Those left to mourn his passing are his wife, Anna, of Sibley, and five children: Evelyn, Mrs. Elmer Heikes, Sibley; Helen, Mrs. Ernest Heikes, Magnolia, Minn.; Elsie, Mrs. Delbert Noble, Little Rock; Loren Bohnart, Sibley; Ruth, Mrs. Mike Weeks, Feather Falls, California; one half-brother, Eldo Thedens, Rock Rapids; one step-brother, Fred Thedens, Little Rock; one step-sister, Mrs. Ernest Nachtigal, and 17 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
