Rodney J. Armstrong, 67, Rockhill Furnace, died at 12:15 p.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at Lewistown Hospital.

Born January 21, 1944, in Spring Township, Perry County, he was a son of the late Carl and Ethel (Varner) Armstrong. He was united in marriage to the former Shirley L. Holden October 31, 1965, at Fair Ridge Assembly of God Church, Shade Gap, by Rev. Belvy White. She survives at their home.

He is survived by his children: Beth A. Price and her husband, Mark, Shirleysburg; Brian W. Armstrong of Mount Union; Perry E. Armstrong, Saltillo; and Penny L. Beam, Blairs Mills; 11 grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren; his siblings: Ira Armstrong, Mount Union; Harold Armstrong, Avondale; Una Woods, Newton Hamilton; Ina Wiser, Mount Union; Lee Armstrong and Papul Armstrong, both of Enola; Joy Hilliard, Carlisle; and Rea Homer, Camp HIll.

He was preceded in death by two sisters: Norma Shelman and Reba Armstrong.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

He was a member of Madden Wennick Post 518 American Legion, Rockhill Furnace.

He was last employed by JLG Industries Inc., McConnellsburg.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 7, at Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia.
