Zina Ruth Larrabee Gillette passed away April 19, 1993 in a Salt Lake Hospital of a lingering illness.
She was born February 25, 1909 in Fayette, Seneca County, New York, the ninth of eleven children born to Thomas Thurston and Martha Lillian Jane Gowin Larrabee. The family moved to Utah in 1910. She attended Salt Lake City Schools. Married Edward Ford Gillette on March 11, 1931 in a Methodist Church in Wyoming. She and her husband Edward, owned and operated the Salt Lake Barber College for many years. She belonged to the Ladies' Oriental Shrine and was a member of the L.D.S. Church. She took great pride in her yard and in her gardening ability. She shared her beautiful handwork with friends and family.
Survived by a brother, Vernon G. Larrabee of Salt Lake; two sisters Mildred Larrabee Bolton, San Jose, California; and Nellie L. Flanigan of Cedar City, Utah; many nieces and nephews; a dear friend and support, Larry Blackwell.
The family wishes to thank the Ladies of the Shrine as well as her neighbors and friends for the kindness and love shown to her.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 23rd, at 1 p.m., at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, where friends may call from 11:30 to 12:30 before services. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 1342 East 5th South.
