Mr. Austell was a native of Camden County and was educated in the Camden County schools. He was a member of Rising Daughter Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as an usher until his death. Mr. Austell was preceded in death by his wife, Florie Baker Austell.
The funeral will be at noon Saturday at Rising Daughter Baptist Church in Waverly with the Rev. B.T. Smith officiating.
Interment will follow in Rising Daughter Cemetery.
Survivors include his children, Joe Austell and James Austell, both of Brunswick, Albert Austell Jr. of Atlanta, Edward Austell of Miami, Fla., and; Alfreda Dallas of Waverly; a sister, Atha Barns of Cleveland, Ohio; a brother, David Austell of Trenton, N.J.; 36 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
Myers Funeral Home in Woodbine is in charge of arrangements.
