Death of Aline Ernst

Mary Aline Nickoles, daughter of James and Malinda Nickoles, was born near Pittsburgh, Pa. She passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Theo Houck, near Strang, at the age of 82 years and 10 months.

In 1883 she moved with her parents to Sibly, Ill., where she was married to John Ernst. To this union were born two children, Anthony and Flora. Her last fourteen years of life were spent with her daughter, where she was considerately and thoughtfully cared for, being in poor heath the past two years. Most of her later life was spent near Strang, except for a few years spent in Clay county and western Kansas.

Her son and husband, four brothers and a sister preceded her in death. Surviving are her daughter, four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 8, with short services at the house and 2 p.m. at the United Brethren church. Rev. Everett Tracy conducted the services. Interment was in the Harmony cemetery.

Out-of-town relatives present were Mr. and Mrs. John Baxter of Table Rock, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Smock of Edgar, Mr. and Mrs. Marsh Isham of Ong, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Walters and Mrs. And Mrs. Kenneth Walters of Shickley, Mrs. Mable Ernst, Arly, Merle and Joyce and Mr. and Mrs. George Decker of Geneva.
