Josephine I. Day, 91, of 424 East VanBuren Street, Centerville, died Saturday, January 12, 1980, in St. Joseph Hospital, Centerville.
Born September 22, 1888, near Cincinnati, she was the daughter of Lore B. and Ida May Adams Irelan. She was married to John W. Day September 24, 1906, in Centerville, and he preceded her in death June 29, 1959.
Mrs. Day was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Survivors include three children, Irene Galpin, Centerville; Raymond L. Day, Eldridge, Ia.; and Harold E. Day, Davenport; six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Hemerly Irelan, Unionville, Mo.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, four brothers and one grandchild.
Services will be Tuesday, January 15, 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Father David Dougherty officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Rosary services will be at Johnson Funeral Home Monday at 7:30 p.m. Memorials have been established to St. Mary's Church or 18-80 Club.
