Betty, age 88, died Tuesday, September 6, 2016, in Amarillo, Texas after a brief illness. Funeral services for Betty Driskill will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday in the Turkey Church of Christ with Stuart Smith officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery under direction of Moore-Rose Funeral Home.

She was born on January 7, 1928, near Turkey, Texas to Elmer Rio and Lela Belle Cruse. She was the fourth of eight children. She married the love of her life, G. P. Driskill on May 12, 1946, and they were blessed to celebrate 66 years of marriage before his passing in 2012.
Betty was a devoted and loving mother to her three children and a wonderful grandmother to her seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. She was very proud of her family and loved having them all together. She would spend hours cooking and preparing for holidays and family get-togethers.
Betty was a member of the Turkey Church of Christ and served side-by-side with her husband who was an elder for 42 years. She loved the Lord and graciously served others.

She is survived by her son, David and wife, Kathy Driskill of Canyon, TX; daughter, Jeanne and husband, Mike Coy of Hubbard, Texas; and daughter, Jana and husband, Ronnie Carpenter of Quitaque, Texas; seven grandchildren, Amy and Jeff Grimland, Jason and Brittany Payne, Josh and Brittney Coy, Amber Coy, Megan and Jason Golden, Sara and Eric Stocker , Libby and Brec Brackett; sixteen great-grandchildren Elise and Michael Grimland, Ryan Coy and Bailey Ellison, Brynn Coy, Wyatt, Jack, Rachel and Allie Golden, Nicholas and Easton Stocker, Hope, Eden and Adeline Brackett, and Jayleigh and Kaden Payne; also one sister, Vernell Nance, and sisters-in-law, Tommie Jo Cruse and Marie Cruse. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sisters, Joleta Johnson and Nora Mae Cruse, brothers, Ray Cruse, Paul Cruse, Alva Lee Cruse and Tommy Cruse.

The family would like to thank those that loved and cared for her at Hudson House in Canyon and also those at BSA Hospice of the Southwest in Amarillo. Memorials can be made to the Turkey Church of Christ, Dreamland Cemetery in Turkey or BSA Hospice of the Southwest.
