MARCELLA BRANHAM BASHAM ROCKY MOUNT, VA – Mrs. Marcella (Branham) Basham, 68, entered into eternity Monday September 5, 2016 from the Carilion Memorial Hospital-Rocky Mount, VA after an extended illness. Her loving family was by her side. Marcella was a born in Pound, VA on October 28, 1947 to the late Leatrice Joy Branham . She was a Christian of the Freewill Baptist faith and attended Hope Freewill Baptist Church. Marcella was a breast cancer survivor. She worked at the Beckley News Paper in the mail room for 17 plus years. She loved going to church and dressing up for church.Marcella was a loyal supporter of St. Judes Children’s Hospital. She loved shopping and buying gifts for her friends and family, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. In addition to her mother Leatrice Branham Groves, Marcella was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Dale Basham. Survivors include her sons, Kevin Basham and wife Stephanie-Rocky Mount, VA, Robert Dale Basham-Pound, VA and Chris Basham and his fiancé Millie Wood- Rocky Mount, VA; 10grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; her sisters, Debbie Palacios-Laurel, MD and Lisa Joya and husband Alex-Laurel, MD; her brothers, Greg Branham and wife Debbie-Corbin, KY, Shelly Branham and wife Christine-Pound, VA and Robert Groves and wife Tammy-Alexandria, VA; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends Susie Sloce and Sarah Yopp and a host of friends and loved ones to mourn her loss and cherish her memory. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm Friday September 9, 2016 in the Baker Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Larry Branham and Reverend Johnny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Haddon Cemetery on South Mountain Road-Pound, VA where Aaron Basham, Kevin Ray Basham, Chris Basham, Samuel Ellis, Aaron Branham and Brian Bush will serve as pallbearers.
