Ola Eaton Dowden was born to Lewis and Hrriet Jane Graham Eaton in Daviess County Indiana. She lost her mother in 1900 and lived with an uncle for a number of years. She married Clarence Cornelius Dowden on 26 January, 1918 in Greene County, Indiana, and to this marriage five known children were born: George Lawrence in 1919, Thelma B in 1922, Majorie L in 1924, Bonnie M in 1927 and James G in 1930.
