John Curtis Schick, died from a sudden illness at his home, on August 16, 2016.
John was born on April 27, 1938 in Camas, Washington.
He enjoyed USS Fulton Reunions, gardening, casinos, fishing & camping.
He joined the U.S. Navy at age 17 and served 20 years as a Torpedo man's Mate. He was an active member of the USS Fulton Association and enjoyed their reunions.
John moved to Vallejo, CA after his military career. He worked at Shell Refinery for Erikson in Martinez, CA. He then moved to East Carbon, UT.
"We found love," when he married Sylvia Varoz in 2004, they traveled together & were
best friends. He was a caring & generous man who will be missed.
John is survived by his wife, Sylvia Schick; his children, David (Sue) Harpine, Anita Bird and Carolyn Crepps, whom he shared with his former spouse Emma; stepchildren, Yvonne Carlson, Anthony (Cindy) Varoz, Julie Varoz, Andy Varoz, and Ralph Varoz; 44 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his first wife, Emma; son Mervin Harpine; stepson, Phillip Varoz.
Graveside services, Friday, August 26, 2016, at 11:00 a.m, Cliffview Cemetery (1850
East 800 North, Price). Family will receive friends at Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main, Price) Thursday evening from 6:00-7:00 p.m. and Friday between 9:30-10:30 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price
