Clara was born in 1875 and appears with her parents in the 1880 census (age 5).

On May 21, 1893, at age 18, she married Thomas J. Brundage from Unionville, New York. Sadly on October 24, 1899 Thomas Brundage was killed in a railroad accident. At the time of his death the couple had had five children however only one, daughter Flossie, had survived past infancy. When her husband died Clara was pregnant with their sixth child.

Clara appears in the 1900 census (age 25) living with her parents in Matamoras, PA. At this point along with Flossie she had a newborn daughter Hazel.

Of Clara's six children with Thomas Brundage I have only been able to get information on two.

In November 1903 Clara married again to Frank Van Nostrand. The couple appears on Rosendale, New York in the 1905 (age 30) census and then in Esopus, New York in 1910 (age 34), 1915 (age 40), 1920 (age 44), 1925 (age 49), 1930 (age 54) and 1940 (age 65) censuses with her husband.

Clara was 78 years old at the time of her death in 1953.
