Weldon Clayborn Emmons, 83, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Oct. 2, 2006, at Missouri Veterans Home.
He was born Nov. 9, 1922, in Corning, Ark., son of John Timothy and Mary Griffith Emmons.

Emmons was a truck driver many years.

He was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Army, Navy and Coast Guard.

Survivors include three sons, Larry Emmons of Diamond Bar, Calif., Timothy Emmons of Chino, Calif., Bill Emmons of San Bernardino, Calif.; a daughter, Mary Emmons of Cabazon, Calif.; two brothers, Vernon Emmons of Blackville, S.C., Lynn Emmons of Paducah, Ky.; two sisters, Gail Fletcher of Cape Girardeau, Glenda Henry of Tucson, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Lorimier Cemetery, with the Rev. Cy Smith officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by Missouri Honor Team.
