Clyde was born May 11, 1925 in Cerro Gordo, the son of Elvin and Anna (Eads) Clarkson. He married Helen Lahniers on December 6, 1947. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and one infant brother.
Surviving are his daughters, Diana (Robert) Clark and Deborah (Sidney) James; son, Dennis (Dixie) Clarkson; sisters, Audrey Aydelott and Ruth (Frank) Boyd; eleven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Clyde was a lifelong farmer in rural Cerro Gordo and Lovington areas and participated in numerous other agricultural ventures. He was a member of the La Place United Methodist Church and life member of the Elks Lodge. Clyde enjoyed motorcycling and was a member of the Silver Wing Motorcycle Club, the Christian Motorcycle Association and the Goldwing Road Riders Association.
