Mrs. Ruthy Ball, 98, of Raven passed away at the home of her son Rev. Albert Ball, Wednesday, Dec. 29. She had celebrated her 98th birthday two weeks ago. She had been bedfast for the past seven years.
She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Davis of Tazewell County, and had resided in Tazewell most of her life.
Her husband, John Ball, preceded her in death thirty years ago. Since then she had made her home with her son, Albert Ball.
Her survivors are Albert Ball, of Raven, James Ball of Shortts Gap. Mrs. Caroline Rose of Grimsleyville, Mrs. Katherine Davis, of Raven.
Eight children having preceded her in death. She also had forty seven grandchildren, one hundred and sixty three great-grandchildren and thirty eight great-great grandchildren.
The body was removed to the home of Albert Ball at Raven on Thursday, Dec. 30. Funeral services were held December 31, at one o'clock at the Road Ridge Church, in charge was the Rev. A.J. Kennedy, of Kingsport, Tenn., and Rev. C.W. Millsap, of Bristol. Burial was in the Ball cemetery.
