--She was a daughter of Isaiah Allen Thrift. Her mother is unclear. Records show Kate's mother was Isaiah's 2nd wife Margaret Jane Mickle. However, Isaiah's first wife Hattie Camp Thrift did not die until 1918, so it appears Hattie was her mother. The large Thrift family lived in York County, SC in 1910, in Kings Mountain, NC in 1930. Kate lived in Blacksburg, SC in 1935 and in Kannapolis, NC in 1940, where she was a textile worker.
