George Lyman Abell was born to Roy Abell Sr and Nena née Scott on 21 November 1922 in Lorenzo, Crosby Texas.
He married Miss Newanna V Cullins on 5 April 1942 in Crosby Texas, and in November of 1943, he enlisted in the United States Navy; serving during World War II.
Mrs Abell passed away in 1958, and George married Betty Bedingfield on 12 March 1960 in Roswell, New Mexico.
He graduated from Ralls High School, was active in Boy Scouts, and a member of the Ralls Masonic Lodge and First United Methodist Church.
Survivors at the time of his passing included his wife; six sons, a brother, 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
