Robert Brown McCray, 57, of Doe Hill died Tuesday morning at his home. Mr. McCray was born Sept. 10, 1923 at Clover Creek and was a son of the late Clinton Joseph and Etta Hoover McCray. He was a member the Doe Hill United Methodist Church and had worked at Stanley Furniture Factory in Waynesboro. His wife, the former Dorothy Karicofe, survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Linda S. McCray of Moyers, W. Va., and Shirley M. Alt of Upper Tract, W.Va.; three sons, Wayne and Robert L. McCray, both of Doe Hill, Alfred McCray of Moyers and six sisters, Adeline Bodkin, Ethel Botkin and Lydia Wilfong, all of Bridgewater, Florence Weekley of Mount Solon, Mary Simmons of Maryland and Janet Eckard of Churchville; three brothers, Joseph W. McCray of Staunton, Claude E. McCray of Bridgewater and John C. McCray of Harrisonburg; and six grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday at the Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell by the Rev. Earl Allen. Burial will be in Doe Hill Cemetery.
