Larry Leaf, 63, died Friday, Aug. 16, at the Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado inpatient unit. He was born Dec. 23, 1938, in Greeley to Amos and Imma Jane (Eitemiller) Leaf. In June 1956, he married Virginia Lauridsen. They later divorced. On Dec. 31, 1962, he married Sally Riggs. They later divorced.He was a member of Moose Lodge No. 909 and served as governor in 1985.Mr. Leaf lived his entire life in the Greeley area, attending schools in Greeley and Evans. He worked for more than 40 years for Great Western Sugar.He loved NASCAR racing, helping his son race for 16 years at Erie Speedway. He also loved fishing, camping and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by son, Chris Leaf of Kersey; his daughter, Maureen Young of Greeley; a sister, Ramona Nickerson Turley of Greeley; a half-brother, Philip Leaf of Iron Mountain, Minn.; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; his former wives, Virginia Lauridsen and Sally Riggs; and numerous nieces and nephews. A brother, Clifford Leaf, and his parents, Amos and Imma Jane Leaf Bartels, are deceased. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Adamson Memorial Chapels-West Chapel. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Denver Children's Hospital in care of the Adamson-West Chapel, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634.
