Born on April 19, 1922, in Belpre, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late James A. and Amy Cowdry Arnott. She was a gifted craftswoman and poet and dedicated her life to making a home for her family. She was a Baptist and a graduate of Belpre High School, Belpre, Ohio.

She was predeceased by brothers, Virgil and James F. Arnott and a sister, Hilda A. Miller.
