MR. ERVING JAMES ELGER, SCOTSTOWN

Scotstown, Sept. 10 -- The funeral of Erving James Elger, who passed away on August 8th, after a long illness, was held on Tuesday, August 10th, at his late residence. Rev. A. D. MacLellan, of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church conducted the simple but impressive service, and was assisted by Rev. George Robins, of St. Alban's Church. Favorite hymns of the deceased were sung and Mr. MacLellan spoke words of hope and comfort to the bereaved.

His theme, "We See Jesus Crowned," was based on Hebrews 2:9, "But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that He by the grace of God, should taste death for every man."

Mr. Fred Buck rendered a solo, "God Will Take Care of You," Miss Anne MacLeod presided at the organ.

Those left to mourn his loss are his wife and young son, Buddy; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Elger, and brother, Clifford, of this town; a sister, Mrs. Percy Coburn, of Lowell, Mass.; a brother, Mr. Lyford Elger, of Mattawa, Ont., and a large circle of relatives and friends.

The bearers were Messrs. George Armstrong, William Paquin, Burnis Mayhew, Charles Armstrong, Kenneth MacLeod and Dr. J. D. Scott.

The funeral was largely attended by relatives and friend from Bury, Cookshire, Milan and Lingwick. The many beautiful floral offerings were silent tributes to the affection and esteem in which Mr. Elger was held.

Interment took place in Riverview Cemetery. Sincere sympathy is extended to the sorrowing family.
