Stan was a devoted husband and father. His passions were his family, serving Jesus, golfing, motorcycles and competitive cowboy shooting. He retired from D.D.O. after a successful career with the federal government. Stan also served in the United States Air Force and as an assistant golf pro at Brigham City Golf Course. He was a jack-of-all-trades and could fix and do anything that he set his mind to; made possible by his uncompromising work ethic.
He had a very special place in his heart for his two dogs, Simon and Pippin. He was a true servant of the Lord in many capacities and ministries including The Christian Motorcyclists Association; is the recipient of the CMA's Servant's Heart Award for 2016. His ability to light up a room with his smile will be truly missed by family and friends.
Stan is survived by his son, Dale Elison (Juliana), Gig Harbor, WA; daughters: Lisa (Mike) Sawyer, Ogden, UT; Darla (John Gaylen) Matthews, Buckeye, AZ; Diane (Ronn) Hartman, Layton, UT; sisters: Kathy Carling and Yvonne Brown; and step-son, Chad (Tenna) Haring, Layton, UT; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Pam Reeves and his loving wife, Mary.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 24, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 - 36th St., Ogden, UT. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Leavitt's and from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. prior to the Service.
Interment at: Leavitt's Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 - 36th St., Ogden, UT.
