Mr. Thomas Richard Shelton, age 55, of Winnfield, La., passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2006, at his residence. He was a member of Sardis Baptist Church in Atlanta, La. Richard served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era.

He was the son of the late Clarence Shelton and the late Eileen (Lee) Shelton.

He is survived by his wife Lou Ann Shelton of Winnfield.

Two Sons, Clint Shelton of Houston, Texas Jason Shelton and wife Charla of Winnfield, La.

Two Step-Daughters, Melissa Turlington and husband Ricky of Montgomery, La. Deedee Chelette of Cleveland, Texas

Three Brothers, Cloy Shelton and wife Janie of Winnfield, La. Pat Shelton and wife Jean of Winnfield, La. David Shelton and wife Barbara of Atlanta, La.

Six Sisters, Cele Thompson and husband Reggie Williams of Atlanta, La.; Jettie Moore of Natchitoches, La.; Kay White and husband David of Winnfield, La.; Linda Weatherford of Atlanta, La.; Connie Ferguson and husband Wayne of Turner; Maine Lawanda Porter of Winnfield, La.

First wife and mother of his sons; Diana Shelton Rowell and husband Buddy of Winnfield, La.
Nine grandchildren, Tori Shelton, Parker Shelton, Sloane Shelton, Sydney Shelton, Auston Turlington, Baden Turlington, Sabrina Chelette, Kayla Chelette, and Tyler Compton.

Services are under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield, La., where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Friday, November 24, 2006 and from 10:00 AM to service time Saturday, November 25, 2006. Funeral services will be held at Southern Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Saturday, with Rev. Danny Keyes and Rev. Bruce Weatherford officiating. Interment will be at Brown Cemetery in Atlanta, La.

Pallbearers will Frankie Shelton, Paul Weatherford, Johnny White, Ricky Turlington, John Collins, Kevin Moore. Jimmy Keeton, Buddy Rowell, Virgle Brumley, Larry DuBoise, Gene Hyde, and Roger Shelton will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
