Oil City Derrick, Saturday, Jun 24 1933:
Dr. Raymond David Kahle, formerly of Plumer, Venango County, died June 16 at home in Lima, OH. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. P. Kahle, at one time lived at 425 Liberty St.

Dr. Kahle taught school in Shamburg, McClintockville and Rynd Farm, then attended the University of the City of New York, graduating in medicine in 1884. The late Dr. Tyler of Rouseville, who at the time of his death was the oldest physician in this county, lent a generous interest in the young school teacher, who graduated with honors in medicine. He located in Randolph, NY, for two years, but moved to the oil town of Lima in 1886, where he continued to practice medicine actively to within one hour of his death from acute digestion. He attended the country school in Plumer and in Jefferson county, where he was born, and the country school was the foundation on which was built his long, successful and understanding career as a physician.

He was one of a large family of 14 children. Of that family, four of his brothers were medical men, three were lawyers, and the others business men. Six of his brothers survive him.

In 1886 he married Nellie Strickland, who survives him, with three daughters, Mrs. Arlene Froelich of Harrisburg, Mrs. Helen Wickes of Boston, Mrs. Katherine Williams of Decatur, IN; a son, Raymond S. Kahle of Newark, NJ; and four grandchildren.

P. A. Kahle, an attorney of Lima, OH, known by his high school friends in Franklin as Ainsworth Kahle, is at the Park Hotel, called here to attend the funeral of his brother.

Raymond was interred Friday morning in Franklin Cemetery near the graves of his parents.
