Marian DeFrain, age 83 years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, August 16, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 8, 1933 in Bay City, the daughter of the late Joe and Lottie (Stephaniak) Matlek. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth on December 7, 2002. She enjoyed going to the casino, playing BINGO and spending time taking care of her family. She made many friends through the years working side by side with her husband. Mary was a member of Trinity St. James Lutheran Church.
Surviving family include her children, Diane (Dale) Reed, Terry Konkle, Gregory DeFrain, Michelle (Ramiro) Velasquez, Scott (Janie) DeFrain, Mike DeFrain, Joseph DeFrain, Paula (Joe) Martinez, Brent (Amy) DeFrain and Brenda DeFrain; Mary had many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Jimmy DeFrain and daughters-in-law, Jackie DeFrain and Teresa Cloutier.
Memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the Penzien-Steele Funeral Home. Pastor Theodore E. Voll officiating. The family will greet friends from 12noon until the time of the service.
