HAROLD A. ZIMMERMAN
SUNDERLAND - Harold A. Zimmerman, 50, prominent in this area since he came here 12 years ago, died Sunday at Putnam Memorial Hospital, Bennington. He had been ill only a short period.
Born Jan 3, 1909 at East Rutherford, N.J., Mr. Zimmerman was the son of Karl and Jeane (Moffatt) Zimmerman. He was head of payroll and assistant office manager of Mack Molding Co. of Arlington.
An active member of East Arlington Federated Church, he had served on its executive board. He also belonged to Red Mountain Lodge, No. 63, F&AM, where he had been treasurer and The Adoniram Chapter No 18, Royal Area Masons of Manchester. He had been identified with many worthwhile community efforts during his residence here.
Survivors are his wife, the former Clara Janeske; a son, Harold, a student at the U.S. Maritime Academy at King's Point, L.I.; a daughter, Janice of Sunderland; a brothr, Robert of River Edge, N.J.; two sisters, Mrs. Jean Peterson of Springfield, N.J. and Miss Margaret Zimmerman of East Rutherford, N.J.; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 1:30 pm at the Federated Church in East Arlington with the Rev. Kenneth McCrea, pastor, officiating. Entombment will be in Arlington.
Friends may call today and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the Stevens Home for Funerals, Arlington. Masonic rites will be held at the funeral home Tuesday at 8 pm.
