Vivian L. (Lavey) Yahne, 72, of Piqua, died at 2:10 p.m. Thursday August 11, 2016 at the Upper Valley Medical Center. She was born May 15, 1944 in Piqua to the late Dale A. and Evelyn L. (Pitsenbarger) Lavey.
Survivors include two daughters, Angela (Robert) Koons, Mandy (Mike) Compton both of Piqua; three grandchildren, Weston (Ashley) Koons, Michael (Mackenzie) Compton, Kalop (Darian) Compton; two brothers, Mike (Anne) Lavey, Dave (Barb) Lavey all of Piqua; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Adrian Lavey, and a sister, Edith Yahne.
Ms. Lavey was a 1962 graduate of Piqua Central High School and a 1964 graduate of Continental Beauty School. She then went to work as a hair stylist and business owner, opening Viv's Beauty Salon in Piqua. She was an active member of Upper Valley Community Church, the Silver Sneakers at the YMCA, and the Piqua Players. She was a big supporter of Piqua Youth Baseball, never missing a game and she became the "official team Nana".
A service to honor her life will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday August 18, 2016 at Upper Valley Community Church with Pastor Andy Monnin officiating. Visitation will be held 5:00-6:00 p.m. Thursday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Upper Valley Community Church, 1400 Seidel Pkwy., Piqua, OH, 45356. Arrangements are being handled through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home.
