Sonia Marie Carter, age 30, was called to rest on Friday, September 29, 1995.

Born February 2, 1965 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Augustus N. and Merry Lee Carter. Sonia attended West High School. Sonia's blythe, free spirit, kind heart, and witty humor will be missed by a host of friends.

Sonia is survived by grandmother, Mrs. Velera Jackson, mother, Mrs. Merry Lee Carter, both of Madera, Calif. sisters, Veronica and Michael Williams, Catherine and Lamar Saddler, brothers, Augustus Carter (and fiance Christi), and Larry Carter, all Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by her father, Augustus N. Carter and sister, Cheryl L. Johnson.

The family wishes to acknowledge the loyal, untiring friendship extended by Sonia's "Nutty Buddy," Ms. Jodi Smith, and the comforting care given by the Doxey Hatch Medical Center staff. A special thank-you to Karen and Casey.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, 11 a.m. at Evans & Early Mortuary, 574 East 100 South, where friends may call Wednesday, 6 to 8 p.m.
