He retired about 7 years ago and moved to the Marissa area. Born in Ashley, Ill., July 26, 1874, he was a son of the late August and Fredericka Scheske, nee Ballhaus, both natives of Germany. He married twice, the second time to Clara Kein at St. Charles, Mo., November 4, 1935.
Besides his widow, he is survived by five children:

Another son preceded him in death. He also leaves a brother and a sister:
Oscar Scheske, Orchard Dr., a real estate salesman
Miss Amalia Myrtle Scheske, 415 East D Street
Two sisters, Miss Clara Adele Scheske of Belleville and Mrs. Carolina Wehmeier of Chicago, preceded him in death.
Funeral at 1:30 p.m. Thursday from Gundlach and Co., Funeral Home to Walnut Hill Cemetery. Rev. A. E. Hillman, former pastor of Signal Hill Lutheran Church, will officiate.
