Daughter of John C. and Cornelia (Brown) Beebe.

According to the "1900 United States Federal Census," Pauline (Beebe) Doty had 9 children. 7 of them were still living at the time of census taking:
- Anna C. Doty (1862-1910)
- Carrie Doty (1865-1960)
- Josephine Doty (1869-1945)
- Julia Mae Doty (1870-1965)
- Eva Maud Doty 1876-1957)
- James Alfred Doty (1880-1976)
- Wallace Horton Doty (1883-1956)
Those who had died:
- John E. Doty - b. 1872 / d. 1885
- N.N. - d. bef. 1900

"1870 U.S. Federal Census": Pauline (25) [sic] and husband John Doty (46) and children Anna C (9), Carrie (8) and Josephine (4) - the census taker switched the ages of Pauline and John. The transcribers obviously mistook Anna's middle initial "C" for a "2" and gave her age as "29".

The 1880 census has a "Joseph Doty" but no "Josephine." As Joseph was exactly the same age than "Josephine," the census taker probably made a mistake here. At that time, Pauline's mother-in-law, Eliza Doty (84), was also living with John's family. The census has Pauline and husband John E. Doty together with children Carrie (14), Joseph[ine] (11), Julia M (9), John E. (6), Eva M (4) and James (4 months).
As the 1890 census is not available, it's sometimes hard to follow track of individual family members.

1890 residing in Bath-on-the Hudson, Rensselaer Co, NY - widow of John E. Doty, Private & Veteran of the Civil War.

In the 1900 USFC, you find Pauline (59) together with sons James A. (20) and Wallace H. Doty (16).
