Lafayette Budd, farmer and real estate dealer, was born in that town April 21, 1824, and is a son of Daniel and Elizabeth Budd previously spoken of. He grew to manhood in Sharon and obtained his education in the village schools of the borough. In February, 1850, he went to California, where he spent twenty years in the gold regions. He returned to his early home in 1870, and has since been engaged in farming and dealing in real estate. Mr. Budd was married December 18, 1871, to Mrs. May Strawbridge, daughter of Roswell and Mary (Scofield) Abell, pioneers of Trumbull Co. Ohio. Mrs. Budd is a member of the Episcopal Church. Our subject is a Democrat in politics, and a member of one of the oldest families of this section of the State.
