Elisha was the first born child of James "Jim" Abner and Amelia Jane "Jennie" Cobb Abner. He married Maggie Smith d/o Milton Smith of Clay County, KY in May 1902. One son, Ballenger was born in May 1903. I was told Elisha became ill and died. His brother, Robert Boyd Abner, who also was my grandfather was 17 years old. Which would put his death between Aug. 1902 and Aug. 1903. No exact date for his death was found, but his wife Maggie remarried by 1906. I was told he was close to the graves of his parents, James and Jennie Cobb Abner.
