Marian Small, former county resident, dies
Marian Small, 73, of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, died in a nursing home there on Monday. She had suffered multiple sclerosis for a long time. Her twin sister, Mary Elizabeth, died in 1911, and her brother, Ralph Brown, Brown's Crossing, died two years ago.
Mrs. Small had lived in Morgan County until 1940, when she moved to Canada. She was a sister to Verna VanDeventer and was formerly a member of the United Methodist Church at Banta and the Bargersville Order of Eastern Star.
The daughter of Thomas E. and Daisy Greenwood Brown, she was born in Morgan County Aug. 27, 1910. She was married to Beverly Small, who preceded her in death.
Survivors besides the local sister include two brothers, Carl Brown of North Chicago, Ill., and William Hugh Brown of Savannah, Ga.
There will be a private service on Wednesday. Cremation will follow in Canada.
