Malvin Leroy, was born Oct. 4, 1918 to Albert Leroy & Marcia Lenora Shaffer in Helene GA. He died Jan. 15 [1993], after a brief illness. The family moved to the Tipton OK area in 1927. Malvin graduated from Hess High School in 1937 and attended Central State University. He married Eva Belle Chapman in 1939, who preceded him in death. They were among the first residents of Del City, moving here in 1947. He married Viola Stallings in 1987. He retired as an Engineer from Frisco Railroad. Mr. Shaffer was a member and Past Worshipful Master of Del City Masonic Lodge 536. He was a 32 Degree Mason and a member of the India Temple Shrine. He was also a member of the Methodist Church. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister. Survived by his wife, Vi, of the home; 2 sisters, Grace Rogers of Tulsa and Lillian Ward of Savannah, GA; a brother, Frank of Elmer OK; 2 step-sons; 7 step-grandchildren and 6 step-great-grandchildren and 2 God Children, Kevin & Ward Hall of Paris TX. A host of nieces, nephews and friends. Services at the Bill Eisenhour SE Chapel, with burial in Resthaven Cemetery. The Daily Oklahoman (Oklahoma City, OK), January 19, 1993.
